Junkyard

This restaurant gets its name from many places. Reason one is the fact that it was built from the bones of an old warehouse. Corrugated metal reclaimed furniture and upcycled art make up this hodgepodge of a restaurant. The second reason for the name is that all the food served at Junkyard is either grown on-site, donated, or foraged. At this Brooklyn “Eco Eatery”, they give new meaning to the phrase one man’s trash is another man’s treasure.

A tri-fold, promotional postcard is sent out instead of the traditional press kit. We’re saving money and resources at Junkyard!

Children who visit the restaurant are provided with a box of odds and ends to keep them occupied. The box stays at the table and kids take home the crafts but parents can purchase a box to take home at the end of their meal.

  • T-SHIRT YARN can be used to make bracelets and other jewelry.

  • WIKKI-STIX, resusable wax sticks fuel kids imaginations by letting them create whatever they want.

  • ORIGAMI instruction cards and plenty of scrap paper cuttings are provided. A parent can scan the QR code on the card and lead their child to a corresponding video. The bottom row of QR cards are fully functional. Try clicking and scanning the origami rabbit!

A GIG POSTER was also made for a benefit concert organized by and hosted at the restaurant. Benefood features local artists and local food!
